Duck (sic) Tape BallDuct tape (sometimes called duck tape after a brand name version) is a vinyl, fabric-reinforced, multi-purpose pressure sensitive tape with a soft and tacky pressure sensitive adhesive. It is generally silver or black in color but many other colors and transparent tapes have recently become available and it has become a popular Some costumes we have seen constructed of Duct tape have been the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz, super hero Duct Tape Man (with cape, belt and boots all made from duct tape), The Mummy (we think this sounds a little hot, but it was very effective!) a knight in shining armor, Xena Princess Warrior, a human rubiks cube, a man in a shower, a chia pet, a robot, a giant green lizard, and a space man. Actually just about any costume you can dream up can be constructed from duct tape.
Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) From pre Columbian times, El Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead has been celebrated in Mexico, and other Latin countries. This is a very special ritual, since it is the day in which the living remember their departed relatives. Sometimes, when people of other cultures hear for the first time about the celebration of the Day of the Dead, they mistakenly think it must be: gruesome, terrifying, scary, ugly and sad. Nothing could be further from the truth, Day of the Dead is a beautiful ritual in which Mexicans happily and lovingly remember their loved relatives who have died. Much like when we go to a graveyard to leave some lovely flowers on a tomb of a relative. Here is a video from the Crafty Chica on how to make your own Dia de los Muertos http://www.mylifetime.com/lifestyle/home-crafts/crafted/video/1659839526/1785277401 Other traditional costumes are ghost and ghouls, as well as the classic skeleton suit.
